Hood Family Christmas

Every year, Chris' mom and step dad spend Christmas at their house in Tucson, Arizona. So, his mom, Kim, started this great tradition so that we can all spend some Christmas time together before they leave. It is always so great, because we have it near the middle of December, so it comes before we are all completely stressed out and crazy.
She picks a Saturday and we all meet at her house around 9:30 or 10 a.m. for brunch. The girls always bring fun pastries, etc. and Kim sets out a Omelet and Hot Chocolate Bar. (*Here is a great breakfast idea for large groups) She puts out all sorts of omelet ingredients from avocado, onions, tomatoes to ham and cheese. Each person cracks a few eggs along with milk and their favorite ingredients into a zip-lock baggy with their name on it. Then she puts the baggies in a huge pot of boiling water. The eggs come out perfectly cooked without someone sitting over a frying pan all morning.
After breakfast, we open our presents to each other, then we all head downtown to go to a matinee of the Nutcracker by Ballet West.
It never fails that all the girls take bets on whose husband will fall asleep first :) But, it is such a fun tradition and we all have such a great time together.
We always line up for the couple/family shots in front of Kim and Bob's beautiful Christmas tree :)
The Family: (L to R) Kim, Chris, Diane, Mike and Bob

Diane and Jonathan's kids, Jacob, Bella and Jackson, are so cute. The boys were told to smile showing their teeth :)

Christmas is so fun when kids are around. I love watching them unwrap their presents. After Jackson opened a life-size Batman action figure, his only comment, "What do I do with it?"
