Lankford Family Reunion

This summer, my dad's side of the family finally had a reunion. We used to get together almost every year when I was young, but this was the first in a very long time. My dad and his siblings definitely see eachother quite often, but to have almost all the cousins and their families there was quite the feat. Thanks to my sweet Aunt Lauri for putting it all together.

We all met in Austin, Texas and throughout the week enjoyed a baseball game, lots of barbeque, shopping, sightseeing, boating and the kids did a ton of swimming! Austin is such a fun city and Chris and I can't wait to take another trip down there!

One of the big tourist attractions is the HUGE colony (they say something near 1.5 million) of Mexican free-tail bats that come out from under the Congress Avenue Bridge every night to fly down the river looking for dinner.

L to R: My cousin's kids, Zoe & Lewis, my cousin Jill and my Aunt Marcia waiting for the bats.

On the second night we went to one of Austin's most popular BBQ joints, The Salt Lick. It was really good and a fun place to take our huge group.

I think this is one of the only pictures we have of all my nieces and nephews together, let alone with me and Chris in it. It was so much fun to be able to spend a whole weekend with them.

After dinner we went to a Round Rock Express (Austin's minor league team) baseball game. It was a ton of fun, but HOT! They also had fireworks after the game since it was July 3rd.

On the 4th of July, my dad rented a boat and we went out on Lake Travis for the day.

My brother and his family at Lake Travis. Amazing, that is 2 pictures with all the kids in it!

That night we barbecued by the pool at our hotel and just relaxed. This is my cousin Gail and her husband Steve.

My brother, Nate and his wife, Deedra.

I think the younger kids crowded out Chris and my cousins' game of basketball.

Before we left on Sunday, we went to Barton Springs in Zilker Park. It is all water from a natural spring. It is pretty cool place to visit, but the water was freezing! This is Chris and Lindsay at the top of the stairs looking down at the pool.

The kids enjoying the water. They literally swam all weekend!
